Doula is a Greek word meaning “woman caregiver.” Today doulas play an important role in the lives of mothers and their partners by providing continuous emotional, physical, and informational support to couples during pregnancy, labor and birth, and in the early postpartum period.

Erica specifically feels her role as a doula is to nurture and support women in a loving and nonjudgemental way, in order to facilitate their bodies’ natural progression and intuitive capacity during each unique birthing experience.

What is a doula?

“Birth is not only about making babies.  It’s about making mothers~strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and believe in their inner strength.”
